What worked

Payload deployment, in-space restart, and both landing profiles completed.

Lessons & anomalies

One center booster engine was deliberately disabled to test a backup. Ship entry intentionally stressed the heat shield and structure. These were planned tests. Before this mission, S36 was lost in a ground-test accident; S37 flew instead.

Mission sequence
  1. Hot staging
  2. Booster backup-engine test
  3. Eight simulators released
  4. Ship relight and soft splashdown
